We began sourcing and importing the first Organically Certified Cacao from Venezuela and are still involved in every step of the process - from working the harvest with the farmers, processing, importing and getting cacao products to the retail shelf.
While in Venezuela, we were shocked that 12% of the cacao bean was lost to the thin fiberous outer shell around the bean. Not wanting this shell to go to waste, we discovered these delicate shells brewed a rich translucent copper herbal tea with a decadent chocolate aroma and we realized we were onto something. This was the first time anyone had ever used the shells of the cacao beans to make an herbal tea and the first real chocolate tea was born.
